I made a yeast starter and unfortunately i used the wrong yeast. I kept it in the flask and placed it in the fridge for another time. Can i do that or is it bad now? How long can it be kept and what are the steps to re-use it?

Thanks,

It will lose about 25% viability per week. So if you aren't going to be using it within a couple weeks you are going to need to put it in a fresh starter.

That should be no problem. You may want to just take that starter and break it down into 2-3 more smaller starters. You can basically take this starter, wash the yeast, and then keep it in a fridge. It should keep for 3-4 months, if not longer, as long as proper sanitization was employed when making this starter.
