Just thought I would brighten everyone's morning with a story of fail from last night/this morning. I'm doing an Irish Red for St. Patty's Day, and so I wanted to do a starter last night. So I attempt to do it in the flask (as I had done before) and it resulted in a HUGE boil over. Had to stop and clean my kitchen after it, then left for a party. So I woke up early this morning to retry, ended up having some sort of contamination as was found out by some black/purplish stuff coming up with the foam when the DME was boiling. So I tossed it and tried again....SAME RESULT. This was after I scrubbed/cleaned/sanitized/recleaned/resanitized. Frustration after using an entire pound of DME for it.

Luckily, I redid it just now and seemed to have success! Joy!
