So last weekend I was drinking with some friends and we opened a bottle of Dupont Avec les Bons Voeux and there was enough yeast on the bottom that I figured, why not try to cultivate it?

So two days ago, this film shows up. Now I'm wondering: normal infection or was there brett in that beer?!

i dont know..pic quality isnt the greatest, but it looks like kreusen to me.

Nooooo. this isn't krausen at all. It does not smell like it, and it is definitely a pellicle of some sort. I'm just curious as to what I am growing.

You've got microbial tomfoolery.

That's not brett. A bug you don't want got to your yeast's food first. It's a loss at this point, unfortunately.

Mistake to put the Einstein figurine in the picture, since I can't take my eyes off of it! I normally love looking at infections, but I just can't stop staring at Zombie Einstein.
