So I was going to brew a Pale Ale tomorrow.

My original plan was to use an old yeast pack that I have (May 2013) and build it back up with 2 starters. I only have a 1L flask, and now I'm going to brew tomorrow, so I only have time for 1 starter. Do you think it would build up in time? I know the calculators (mr.malty, etc) say it's basically a lost cause, but what are my chances?

My other options are London Ale, Irish Ale, and Scottish Ale. Or I could possibly re-use some Kolsch yeast that is currently in a fermenter.

Thoughts? LHBS is closed for the day, and whatever I do, I want to get a starter going.

Of your options, I'd opt for the Kolsch strain if you're really featuring American hops or the London Ale if you're going a tad malty.
