After you've cooled your wort and whirlpooled with a spoon, wort chiller or whatever........how long do you let your wort settle before racking to your carboy, if at all?

I've been a bit disappointed with how much wort makes it into my carboy before I start getting all the break off the bottom of the kettle.

When I did PM, I always just dumped most of my entire boil and strained out the hops. With AG and increased break, I didn't want all of it getting into the carboy.

It's not a big deal, but just something I'm trying to see if there is a better way of doing things.

Thanks!

I let mine settle for 1/2 hour before siphoning into my fermenter. I still get some trub carryover but don't worry about it. Using whole hops as I do most of the time also makes for a good trub filter.

When I use pellet hops I expect a little more trub.
