I've bought this thing, B3-12A 60 plates chiller on aliexpress, it seems like a good piece of equipment but I am not as satisfied as I thought I would be and I have a few questions.
It is not labeled at all so the first question is - does it have predefined wort and water chambers and their respective directions or does that not matter (I know that the flows should be opposed to get a better cool down, someone please confirm this one)? Because I saw some other chillers that are marked with wort in/out and water in/out.
And second, when I was testing it for the first time, I did it with hot water and it managed to cool it down from around 90°C to about 25-28°C but when I did it yesterday with wort it did very poorly, cooling down the wort from 95°C to 45-50°C when I had to slow down the flow from 10l per minute to around 1l per minute (this is subjective estimate, might be a bit exagerated due to my stress levels at that point). Is it possible that wort is that harder to cool down? I know it should be since it is denser than water but still the difference is too big for me to be sure it is only that. What could I have done wrong here?
