Isn't this the next project of our own arctic alchemy guys??? I saw a posting on FB by them that they were going to be working on something else now that they finished the Alshop's Arctic Ale project.

"They said that it did taste very old, which is no surprise, with some burnt notes. But it was quite acidic - which could mean there's been some fermenting going on in the bottle and with time it's become acid," said Annika Wilhelmson of the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT)."

IE, it might have been safe to drink....but the description certainly makes it seem like it wasn't drinkable!!

AFAIK, the oldest barrels of beer recovered in a shipwreck was from the Vasa (A Swedish vessel that sank right in the bay from which it was launched in 1628)). I don't think anyone tried drinking whatever bile was left, but apparently, the ship's brandy tasted very good.
