and it works!!! This my first ever electronics experiment so I'm surprised it worked after the first wiring. Now to find some magnets...

Does anyone know of brick and mortar stores that sell rare earth magnets? I've checked Radio Shack, Michael's and Home Depot. They have normal magnets but not rare earth.

I take it you don't have an old hard drive laying around? I tell you what, I have a whole stack of mags I got off ebay. I'll never use them all. PM me your address and I send you a couple. Consider it an early HBT Christmas present.
