I'm looking at putting together a simple boil contoller to pair with my RIMS tube that's run off of a IPB-16.

I'm looking to use a SSVR with a pot like the Stilldragon kits to be able to dial in the boil power, don't need a PID since I have the IPB-16 for my mash temps.

Does this wiring diagram look correct? I have an electrician friend who will be helping me do everything correctly but want to start out with a good diagram before I involve him.

Your circuit looks workable, but I recommend putting in a mechanical switch for the element loop. For this you need a 2 pole, single throw switch like a Leviton 3032. The reason for the switch is that TRIAC's (the electronic switch inside the SSVR) tend to fail in the "on" mode. Also, TRIAC's have a few mA of leakage when off which is enough to give you a shock. The mechanical switch makes sure that OFF is really OFF.

I like to put the mechanical switch between the incoming power and the SSR or SSVR. That way a failed SSR/SSVR can be isolated from the incoming power.
