Hi All,
I just reracked into secondary last night, after being in primary for 7 days. My question is... How long can I leave my beer in the secondary before bottling? I don't intend to even try this batch until my new baby is born in mid-December, so it'll be conditioning in the bottle for several months. Is there a difference in carboy conditioning vs. bottle?

Thanks again for all your help. This site is great.

Some people say that conditioning in a carboy (bulk) is better than in bottles.

If I had to choose one thing to do before December, I would bottle. Even if you leave it in the carboy until then you will still need to bottle it and let it condition some more.

depends on the yeast used, but you can probably go 2 months in secondary and still have enuf yeast in suspension to bottle condition.

just don't wait until after the baby is born, or you'll never get it bottled.
