Wine cooler heat

I'm interested in turning our hallway closet into a mini wine cellar to hold about 100 bottles of wine, complete with a wine cooler. My concern is the heat that the cooler gives off. Is this a good idea?

It really does depend on how much heat it's kicking out.

By either way, I would be weary.

The cooler will overheat a small space so you will have to vent it. Can you install a small exhaust fan that will direct the heat to an adjacent space. If you can, make sure there is a space under the door or through the floor to draw in cool air.

Strangely enough, leaving the cooler door open won't cool the space off - it just makes it that much warmer.
