Had a problem with a insect getting into my 2 L starter wort. Chilled the wort after being on the stir plate for 36 hours and there is very little yeast production on the bottom of the flask. I was thinking about reboiling the wort so I would not have to make a new starter and try repitching new yeast into this wort. Can anyone see a problem with this idea?

If the first yeast pitch has produced viable cells most likely the wort is exhausted. Take a gravity reading to see where it is. If you suspect the starter has been tainted I'd throw it out and use fresh wort. Yeast is a lot cheaper than an entire batch.
