Why SS braids??

Okay, so tell me why you use SS braids in lieu of a false bottom... any real reason? Dont you get more channeling and lower eff.? Let me know what you all think about this.

You don't want to use them for continuous sparging, for those reasons. They are a LOT cheaper than a SS false-bottom, which is one reason why a lot of batch spargers used them. Channeling doesn't matter for batch sparging.
