Why do I do this to myself?

Last spring, I put together a blues band.

After a month, we lost our bassist/vocalist because of his job. So I started singing... literally. First time I've ever really sang in my life.

So, a couple days ago, I was chatting with a friend of mine who tends bar at one of the two watering holes in town, she found out (through a mutual friend) that I often do a solo acoustic performance in my home pub.. usually after I'm drunk enough to do it.. so she started asking, then begging, me to come down and do a show. So I'm doing it tomorrow evening.

So of course me being the publicity/marketing hound that I am, I posted it on facebook.

I had a meeting today with the Events Manager and General Manager of a local-ish evnt hall/bar/banquet facility regarding something completely unrelated. So I sit down and the events manager says "so... when do you want to come up and do your solo acoustic show here?"

Now I'm booked next Thursday... and apparently every Thursday after that for a month.

Let's add to this all the bad gigs we have coming up, as well as the DJ gigs I have coming up. My summer just went away!

So anyway... any of my fellow HBers up here in The County, come on out and say "hi"... PM me for specifics.

Ben.. tomorrow is at Poolside in Houlton; next Thursday is at The Crow's Nest in Presque Isle.

The band will be in Bangor on the 25th.. either 4:30-6p or from 6-9.. not sure yet... but we'll be in Market Square, or whatever that is, wedged between Ipanema and Patty Murphy's.

Ah, I know exactly where you will be. I can walk there. I wouldn't be surprized if I could hear you from my house as well. I can hear all the waterfront concerts from my house, it's pretty nice!
