Whirlpool Port Location advice

Got a spincycle short from brewhardware and need some advice on the location. It needs to be to the left. I was thinking of putting just a tiny bit higher than my dip tube, basically almost above the vent hole in the bottom.

I thought I could put some foil tape over this vent (maybe bad idea might just torch right through) and maybe solder something over it more permanently.

I also want to keep in mind replacing with Tri Clamp ferrules in the future.

I've made the mistake of mounting too high in the past and it was not submerged for 5 gallon batches.

I decided I'm going to exchange for the drop tube version. I liked the idea of less to clean, but mounting will be better.
