Hey I am drilling today and bringing my kegs to a welder tomorrow...

So my HLT with have a ball valve and sight gauge...

my MLT will have a ball valve with dip stick and false bottom and a thermometer...

my BK will have a ball valve...

Anything else you recommended? That's good right?

But the real question is... where should I make the hole? closest to the bottom? and how high should the thermometer be in the MLT? Closest to the bottom?

The sight glass should be closest to the bottom in the HLT I think.

Nothing above the keg hole because a lot of heat comes out of there right?

so if the ball valve is right in front of you should the sight glass be 90 degrees from you? like on the left side of the keggle? What the best place?

Thermometer right on top of ball valve? to the left or right....?? Thanks

everything you have posted seams right to me

I put my ball valves 3/4 of an inch up from the seem on the keg
as for my thermometer I put it 45 deg to the right of the ball valve and a little higher I have seen it done lots of ways to each there own . do it how you want you should be good to go

okay thanks i will put 2 inch higher.. i never mashed so wasnt' sure if the grains would affect temps... thanks!
