I'm looking to buy hops by the pound and grain by the 55 lb bag. I live in Marion county Oregon surrounded by hop fields, but have no idea where to get them cheap. If anyone in Oregon has a local supplier, that would be awesome. My LHBS is probably the most expensive place to buy ingredients. Any ideas?

Buy bulk grain from your LHBS unless you can get a group buy together and palletize the shipping and get it sent as freight. If you can get up to about 200 pounds or so, you can get stuff shipped via freight and it could be cheaper than your LHBS. Otherwise, shipping will kill you.

I believe EdWort has done pallet shipping. The name of the company was Northwest Malting or something like that... I really don't remember the details.
