I am interested in buying a few 5 gallon (20 L) sankey kegs. The only source I have found is CHI and they don't seem to have them in stock. I have checked craigslist and no luck.

Any tips would be appreciated...

PS - I am in the Los Angeles area if that helps.

$169 is a bit pricey for a 5 gallon keg!

I thought these would be at least no more than corney kegs, perhaps even less.

Have you tried any metal salvage yards? In the Phoenix area, I find the 5 gal sankey's quite often. Then you're only spending the price per pound on stainless. Its the way to go if you're near any yards.

Look on ebay... There's one posted right now, coming from Texas... Of course, I still have four of that size that I picked up a while back. I've fermented, and aged, in them... I'm using larger kegs (25L and pony/7.75 gallon) now.

I would also keep checking Craigslist for them. That's how I scored my four.
