A lot of people don't do the secondary thing because it's the time when you can pick up some funky funk, transferring from one carboy to another. I'm a THIRD TIME brewer (new to this). Look at my pics. Did I just have a little more fermentation going on, or am I growing space grass in my beer? I'm not a chemist, or a biologist, or a horticulturalist.
