I've got some additional wheat DME I'm not using so I was thinking of making a starter with it. I recall wheat extract not being as fermentable which is why you are supposed to add normal malt extract in addition to wheat extract when brewing wheat beers. Regardless I was thinking it might be OK to make starters with wheat DME. Anyone have luck doing this?

You can make it with anything that will be eaten by yeast. If I was making a hefeweizen, I would actually prefer wheat DME to pale.
