Just a quick question.

What's the difference between Apfelwein and Cider?

Thanks aamcle

To expand on Gila's answer- a cider might finish at 5-7% ABV, but with applewein you add enough sugar to bump it up to wine strength- 9-15%. At that % it's usually a tart, kickass drink. There's usually not much apple character left unless you leave it alone for a good 6 months or longer. Patience is the key to getting a good applewein.
