What size tubing for blowoff tube?

I am thinking of switching to large diameter tubing for blowoffs during heavy fermentation. Yesterday I noticed that Lowe's had pretty good prices on 1" clear tubing. What is a good size for a 6.5 gal carboy?

1" ID tubing fits snugly in the top of the glass carboy.

Moisten the tube with some sanitizer so it slides in easier. (That's what she said?)

1.25" OD Tubing.

Not sure how they sell it, I got mine from work.
