What happens if I added the priming sugar(5oz dextrose) from the extract kit to the wort?
The kit I am making is True Brew Porter.

That depends on when you are talking about adding it. You add it at bottleing time so that the yeast eat it. The co2 they create can't escape the bottle and it carbonates your beer.

You'll be fine with only 5oz of extra sugar, no addition yeast needed.

The beer will only have about a .0005 % more alcohol by volume, so you won't notice anything different in the finished product really. And you will have to add more sugar come bottling day.

What do you mean by that? Will I have to add more priming sugar than what the recipe calls for?

You'll have to add priming sugar at bottling time since the sugar you add now will have been consumed by the yeast.
