Could someone please tell me, and maybe even post a link to a controller that will work for my LP Gas Brutus. I will be using Asco valves for the gas?:mug:

You do know this is the electric forum? You'll get far more looks in the equipment or diy forum.

Nice selection of controllers to fit any need- http://www.dwyer-inst.com/Product/Temperature/TemperatureSwitches/DigitalPanelMount/

Popular on this site for controlling ferm chambers and keezers. Dual stage with C readout, but has a lower contact rating than the Love controllers above (10A)- http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Digital-Temperature-Controller-Thermostat-Aquarium-/270629998461?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f02ce0f7d

Single stage F version of the one above. Can be had cheaper than the one above, especially if buying multiple units. These are what I use to control my HERMS, but they have a lower contact rating than the others (5A)- http://cgi.ebay.com/AC-110-120V-Digital-Temperature-Controller-Thermostat-F-/150606638066?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2310daebf2

Thanks for the reply, and the links. I know that posting this question here would get answered better becuase you electric guys know a lot about this stuff.:mug:

It's the same as the third link, which is also in F*. It's only single stage and 5A. As long as you only need single stage control and you aren't switching anything that draws more than 5A, it will work fine. As I said, I use two of them to control my HERMS.

I am only going to use them for controlling the asco valves. I put in an offer, just have to wait and see.

I was able to win through a "Make Offer" bid on Ebay for 3 of these. I got them for $20 each with free shipping.

Now I just need to tidy up the metal work on the stand and paint it.

I went with the Chinese controllers from http://www.lightobject.com. The JLD612 (you will need the relay for the ASCO valves). They can control either AC or DC. Good prices ($45 controller plus relay), fast shipping, easy to set-up.

JimmyD,

What probe does that controller accept? Also does it display top set point and bottom set point or is one current and the other top set point?

CD

CD,

It will accept J or K type thermocouple probes (plus a number of others that are programmable). The top indication is actual, bottom is set point value (easy to change with up, down arrows). On my set-up, I did the Brutus 10 design where the probe is in the thermowell (using a T connection) at the bottom of the HLT and Mash Tun.
