What are some good movies ... romantic comedy, drama etc for a date night at home with one's spouse or significant other?


A movie I saw a couple weeks ago: "Mostly Martha" from 2001 ... cute, German, romantic comedy (I know - that sounds completely contradictory). Story about a workaholic female chef.
Charming movie with good critical acclaim and awards. Subtitled from German. Good write-up on wiki.
Made a nice Italian dinner and watched the movie ... made for a really nice and relaxing evening.

"Shall We Dance" a 1996 Japanese romantic comedy-drama film directed by Masayuki Suo.

On Netflix, you can find one called Love Hard. Cute and funny rom-com. Predictable in all the ways a rom-com usually is, but fun nonetheless.

Not my usual genre, but my wife is friends with one of the writers.
