I like trying new beer. Frequently works out pretty well. Sometimes it doesn't, like that 6 pack of Blonde Blond.
The other day I made up a 6 pack from the grocery store. First beer from the mixed 6 was Highland brewing Porter.
Today I tried something new, Black Horse Brewing's Vanilla Cream Ale. When I first popped the can and took a sip, I didn't think I liked it. After it warmed up a bit, the flavor came out and it was very drinkable. Never be a favorite, but definitely wouldn't mind buying again.
HB dark lager with cacao nibs. I think I did something wrong, it's kinda tasteless. O.G. was 1.054, F.G. was 1.020. Used 2 packs of 34/70, fermented at room temp. Its only been in the keg for 5 days. I know it needs to sit longer, but I'm an impatient brewer.
Surprised to find this at my local store. Picked up a single can to see what the buzz is about. 12%. Really decadent, thick and chewy. Delicious, though a bit too sweet to have more than one. But one is plenty. I'd buy this again. Recommended.
Starting to get a little chill in the air. Going Rogue tonight. Heading to VT on Sunday for a weeklong work conference, looking forward to some of that states beer (Hill Farmstead, Alchemist, etc.). Will be visiting Snow Republic on Thursday but will be the only one I’ll be able to actually visit.
