Working on a bourbon stout. Have been soaking light toast oak chips in bourbon for a couple of weeks (used single barrel Knob Creek because I had a bottle of it). Planning to put them in a hop bag and add to secondary tomorrow. Should I weigh the bag down? or let it float on top?

Thank you.

Weight them down, unless you plan on removing it

more contact time, more surface contact if they are fully submerged.

Glass marbles - spray with Rubbing alcohol, to sanitize them

my 2 cents

Or get some of these:

They'll last forever (well at probably least as long as you live), and you can boil 'em, soak 'em in sanitizer or whatever you want without fear of breakage or corrosion . . . and . . . well . . . they're stainless steel . . . and we brewers love shiny stainless steel thingies, right?
