Water Salts

Im brewing my first batch tomorrow (english brown ale) and I have a pur water purifier that I was going to use to filter the water. Would this be necessary to add Burton Water Salts to my boil before the steeping of the specialty grains?

A pur filter is fine. I wouldn't add any salts without knowing what your water is already - especially if you are doing extract.

Nah, don't add the salts. Like GT says, unless you know the exact chemistry of the water going into the beer, don't try and change it.

If brewing with malt extract the water chemistry was taken into account in the process of mfg the extract.

If that worried about it use spring water from the store. Brew on brother!:rockin:
