I bought a couple water heater elements, based on some reading I did on other threads. Basically, I don't want to have to continually purchase propane and I figured a decent electric set up wouldn't be too complicated. The heating elements are Copper sheath-tinned Ez-Flo 60124 Water Heater Element - Normal Duty that operate at 120V-2000W. My main question is whether or not the Copper sheath-tinned is food-safe and/or a good option for brewing. I'm assuming they're food safe since they're used in water heaters, but brewing involved more complex liquids. Any discussion about heating elements for brew kettles is welcome as well.

It might be worth a call to Ez-flo to speak to a tech support person.
They should be able to tell you what the element is made of and any potential issues.
