I have the 5.5 pound wheat malt and tettnang hops. How much of a difference would it be if I substituted rahr two row for pilsner? I plan on getting the weinstephaner yeast on Friday, just looking for a way to save a few bucks.

There would be a difference, but your two row and wheat will still make a nice beer. Pilsner has a light grainy flavor, while the rhar should be pretty neutral. The yeast will drive the flavor; the pilsner base would just add some complexity.

I agree. Just made a hefe with Briess 2-row because I was out of pils at the time. Still tastes great though! Hard to tell any differences.

Thanks. Just boosted my confidence a little lol. Gonna give it a shot this weekend. The whole reason I asked I have two 50pound sacks of the rahr two row and want the hefe but need to cut costs where I can lol.
