It's warming up in my area and I just ferment at ambient temps. Now I'm at ~70-75 degrees. What will be the consequences if I brew a steam at these temps with San francisco lager Yeast?

I've brewed a steam beer really close to 70, which I don't recommend, but never above that really. Your results may be unpredictable. Off flavors of various sorts are likely.

You can always try the water bath and ice thing?

Do the swamp cooler trick. Get a tub big enough to hold the fermenter, add some water and then add frozen water battles as needed to keep the temp down. Work great, but it does take some monitoring. Usually need to add fresh bottles in the morning and in the evening.

A lot of us did that before we got fermentation chambers.

This is great, thanks.

controlling fermentation temps is one of the best things to do in order to make better beer.

Cheers.

I've recently started using the swamp cooler technique with great results.

I'd also throw it out there that WLP060 American Ale Yeast Blend could be a great substitute for you down the road. Might not be as clean as a true lager yeast, but it's pretty darn close.
