Cmon Yoop, You can't be older than 22 or 23.......Right? It isn't physical age anyway, it all mental. So I can be a horny 15 year old boy till I die. I never wanted to grow up and I have resisted it fiercly in the last 4 years, but alas Kidney failure is slowing me down and making me behave like an older more staid gent. It's one of those scratchy and itchy things around you neck in church on Sunday, and you just wanna rip it off and get back to jeans and a T-shirt before the itch drives you absolutely insane.....

While I went Army I have to say I am rather proud of my Dad. He was on the first sub to circle the globe submerged. I think it was the Triton but I have not read the Nat Geo article lately.

I was at Ft Huachuca (military intelligence), followed by Germany. It was 30 years ago, though!
What was your MOS?

I was a 97b40 out of the older school at Ft. Holabird.

Bet Arizona was nicer than Baltimore, Maryland.

I always liked listing my job title on resumes: Counter Intelligence Special Agent.

Started as 96B, went to 97B. After that, I worked in PsyOps.

Arizonia was great- I loved it. I loved Germany too, as it was the height of the Cold War and I had a lot of duties- but spend weekends in Paris, Amsterdam, Salzburg, Vienna, etc.

This is a great thread! Well done, HillyBilly.

Just want to take a chance to say thank you to all veterans. There is healthy camaraderie among the different services but we're all on the same team.

"Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction, 'I served in the United States Military,'" wrote President John F. Kennedy in August 1963.

Me?

Senior Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy. Retired.

Am I the only Coastie? Well, it is the smallest service.
USCG, Boatswain's Mate, six years active, 1981-87. CGC Decisive, Rescue Station Fort Totten NY (closed, but I still see my old boat 41412 sometimes), PB Cape Horn (also gone). I loved that job, sunrise at sea, or sunsets over NYC.
But I'm glad younger guys are going out in those storms now.
There is some impressive service here, I salute you all.
