I made a 5+ gallon batch of mead back in Jan 17th. Racked to secondary in
Feb.

I have a few pounds of berries that i want to use. I am considering two options and need to know which is more appropriate.

One is to pasturize the berries and add to mead that I have from Jan. Probably 3 lbs to 3 gallons and bottle the remaider as is.

Option two, I have ingrediants for a new batch. Brew/warm up a new batch with the berries tossed in at the beginning. Just bottle the already aged mead, some carbed and some not.

Which would you do?

Since your are talking about a relatively small amount of berries, I'd be inclined to add them to some of your finished mead. You won't lose as much aroma and flavor through the airlock that way.
