After 9-10 years I'm finally getting back into brewing and built an electric herms.Due to cash depleted equipment fund, I didn't want to go crazy or Jerry rig a vent Hood and ended up settled on this. About $50-$60 in air duct reducers from 20" to 16", 16" to 10", 10" to 8", 8" to 6" then a 90° out to a 6" vortex fan. After siliconing the fan shroud and installing a condensate drain line it worked like a champ. No lip on bottom but after two 10 gallon batches with 90 minute boils I didn't see a drop come back the wrong way. Condensate collected totalled about 2 ounces each brew.

I added a little HBT flair with an old sticker I had saved for the right occassion! I'll post progress pics of brew room when I get time...I hope the pics autorotate after upload.
