So I brewed up a porter yesterday. It calls for 1 lb of malto dextrine at 60 minutes. I forgot all about it. Can I just boil up a lb of this stuff and add it to the secondary to get the same effect or is it to late?
 
I am pretty certain what you are looking to do will work fine. I've added it at kegging for a little more mouthfeel and had no ill effects.
