I'm off for a 2-week vacation to Billings, MT visiting the family, camping, fishing and drinking my dad's bud light lime he raves about. Full report on the wholesome goodness when I get back.

I asked why he likes it. He said because it doesn't taste like beer:mug:

I should have time to bleach my taste buds with the local breweries. My BIL is a big craft beer fan.

Moose Drool is not that good a beer IMO- But there are a ton of good beers out there. Id love to move to MT and buy 20-50 acres.... hava a little 1-2 acre hop farm!

Dude have fun on the Vacation! Nothing better than drinking beers with friend and family while not working!

Alright. The verdict is in. Bud Light Lime is ungood. I really couldn't stand the stuff to be honest. I can appreciate a straight bud light for what it is, but not the lime. Just not my thing.

On the other hand, I did have some good brews from the local area. I enjoyed the pale ale and Glacier Ale from Red Lodge Brewing, the IPA at Angry Hank's, the IPA at Carter's and a black and tan at Montana Brewing Co. Good stuff all around.

I do like the Moose Drool, but I can get that here in CA.

I'm now in the process of convincing SWMBO I need to move back to MT. I don't think it's working:(

Move back from where? To Billings or some other town? What I remember about MT is little to no economy unless you are in the farming or ranching industry.

I'm not much for the BL lime either. In MT I remember everyone drinking red beer (tomato juice in their beer can). Recently I saw an actual product at the gas station where the tomato juice has already been added.

Or a millionaire :D

My dad lives out there, he's a Real Estate Broker. One of his neighbors is the CEO of Intel (or something like that) I believe. The guy has like 40,000 acres. The other neighbor is letting him use his 30 x 20 greenhouse....the only reason the gentleman has the greenhouse seems like "just because".

Sounds like you need to be mooching off daddy :)

Tomato juice in beer!?! Never tried it but it sounds quite disgusting.

tomato juice+beer= me thworing up al over the place. That sounds absolutly awful. Im going up to montana soon to go flyfishing so i will check out the local beer and buy and acre or two ;). My dad used to work for Arthur Blank and my dad got invited up to his ranch in montana and he said it was ****ing amazing. And he has been flyfishing there a couple times and he says its beautiful.

See if Whitefish Brewery is still making their Huckleberry Ale. I miss that stuff. If anyone can PM me with a clone I'd be eternally grateful.

Obviously he wasn't there in the winter, lol. Unless he was fly-ICE fishing.
