Using Keg hop spider in boil kettle

I have two keg hop spiders that I previously used for keg hopping and I’m no longer going to keg hop. Has anyone used these as hop spiders in the boil kettle? I can’t see any reason this wouldn’t work? I plan on leaving the top off and using some string to tie to the handle on the kettle.

Too small!
Hops need to have ample room to swim and release their goodness.
