I recently picked up, and made a batch within a Fermzilla. I talked with a few people who said that they brew with the butterfly valve open, which makes sense to prevent oxygenation from whatever is in the bowl.

Do I shut the valve after fermentation completes to emulate moving to secondary? Do I just leave it open for the primary + secondary time?

The way I did it, I left it open the entire time, and when I was ready to bottle, I closed the valve and used a siphon. I think this stirred up enough crap that it came out a bit cloudy.

Any thoughts?
