I have easy access to Urnex which we use at work for cleaning our coffee brewing equipment and urns which is all generally stainless. Would this be a suitable substitute in lieu of PBW?

Cheers,

Urnex? Wow, what a bad name... Sounds like something for cleaning urinals. Or maybe cremation urns.

Can't answer your question, but I find that PBW works so well that it's not difficult for me to justify the cost. The main issue with cleaning coffee pots is the scale build-up, which isn't really the same (more of a mineral thing) than the hop and malt residue, etc. from brewing. It may work, but my guess is it's likely more expensive... why chance it?
