Ok, my beer drinking buddy replaced his upright freezer and dropped his old one off at my house yesterday. Someone point me to a good conversion thread for an upright....My searches lead me to chest type conversions.

Thanks!

The only workaround is if you can bend all the shelves without breaking one. It's a slim
chance. Either use it as a freezer or post it on craigslist to trade for a chest freezer.

I've seen a couple of threads where they bent the shelves out of the way and used an upright freezer for a fermentation chamber of keezer, but if you break one your freezer becomes a boat anchor. I think that putting it on CL and trading it for a chest is a better(and less risky) option.

I too have an upright freezer than we never put enough stuff in to justify it even running. I believe it is an Imperial frost free commercial unit. The shelves are plastic so don't think there are any coils since they are very flimsy. What kind of mods do I need to do to make this a keezer or even a fermenter for lagers?

BTW sorry for the thread jack.
