Upgrading

So I've decided to build my own mash tun, only problem is the only parts at the local hardware store were either galvanized or made of brass. I'm not 100% sure, but I was thinking these might be no good. What are the negative consequences of using these materials?

You can use Brass but it's best if you soak it in vinegar first to remove lead from the surface. There are a lot of places to get stainless on the internet.

I was trying to build a screen etc from the hardware store. This site, including shipping, came in at just about the same price as a diy. It was a no brainer for me.
