By January, things will definitely calm down. I see them turning like Canton within 6 months.
I hope so. Sometimes I think about going back there because I like their beer and I'd like to drink it again, but then I think

They have indicated that the Monson location will re-open at some point and both locations will be selling cans. Maybe they don't have enough employees yet to properly staff both places yet?

Opening both locations for can sales is sure to guarantee double dipping by a good portion of customers, especially those looking to make a buck off the secondary market. I assume (hope) that Monson will be growler fills and merch only, while Charlton becomes the true one-stop shop for everything - cans, growlers, merch, and full pours.

Agree, makes the most sense to me.

Anybody go to Treehouse yesterday? Still crazy?

I was about to ask the same thing.

I am dragging my wife all over New England for beer next week. If Treehouse is crazy, then we will just stick to Trillium. If the new location has calmed things down, then I will be there next Wednesday.

I'm not sure what a normal Wednesday is like, but they sold over 500 cases of Bright yesterday at 6pp.

Yeh, that is about normal, 2200~ accounted for the DIPA. Which is to say, still crazy conceptually.
Gets way crazier when the seldom made beers come out, too.

I heard the waits were pretty short yesterday though, so the number of customers may be less of a factor with the new facility. I'll have to see some time soon.

Waited a half hour today, which was probably about 15 minutes shorter than my last few trips to Monson. Those were almost a year ago and it seems like things had only gotten crazier since, so the new brewery already seems to be working the crowds more efficiently than the old one. Near a half hour closer to Boston, more beer per person, and lines hopefully decreasing from here makes it a way more reasonable trip to make. I really do think it'll be something more like Canton Trillium or the Alchemist in a few months for all but the biggest releases.

It seems like they've designed this new place to be a nice place to actually enjoy a few pours. Hopefully the crowds die down enough where they feel that's feasible. I think it should, especially once they have enough volume to have the Monson place back open.

went to charlton for the first time today. got there at 4, parked in top lot. the line took just under 25 minutes. by the time we left, they'd brought the entire line inside and snaked it around so no one had to wait in the rain. far far tamer than anything i experienced in monson in the past 18 months. super nice facility and grounds. looking forward to catching some sunsets from the outdoor areas in the future.
