have any of you seen a Toynbee tile? 100s of these embedded in the asphalt of streets of several major cities, most in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, referring to Stanley Kubrik's "2001: A Space Odyssey"

I saw several in DC in the late 90s, pretty sure the one in the picture above, though it's credited as being in "Franklin Square" the location is actually "Franklin Park"

there was also a documentary on the tiles & a search for the creator. the filmmakers found the guy responsible, but said he was really too whacked out to even approach, so they never interviewed him
