I accidentally added 5 oz of dextrose to my 4 gallon batch and bottled it two days ago. Is this way too much or can I just put the bottles in the refrigerator sooner that normal?

Well if you put them in the fridge sooner they may not carbonate at all:) You may have bottle bombs, you may not, it's hard to say. What was the OG? FG? Temperature of the fermented beer? Style of beer?

Use this calculator and see where you are at in Vols of CO2 and place the bottles in a covered tub in case they begin to explode............

That's about 3-3.5 volumes of CO2. Normally ales are around 2.5. It'll be fizzy, but probably won't explode. :) You can certainly refrigerate and drink it early, but it might still overcarb given enough time. Just check on them once a week, and when they're ready, get them as cold as possible.

What kind of beer is it?

OG was1.058 and FG was 1.011 it's an Irish red that calculator said I should have used 2.7 oz of corn sugar for 2 volumes of CO2. Since its only been two days I was thinking about waiting a day or two putting one in the fridge and seeing how carbonated it is.

you shouldn't have bottle bombs. I routinely do 7 ounces of sugar for my hefeweizen's and Saisons and have NEVER had a bottle bomb... your beer will be a bit over carbed, but nothing too bad.
