I brewed a clone of my favorite beer and it has turned out a bit too tart. I think that this was due to the cranberry that I added. Is there a way to mellow this tartness out? I was thinking of soaking some oak chips in with it for some time. Suggestions?

Fruit Tatars are always strongest at first. Go ahead and bottle it and let it sit for like a month or more. The taste will mellow out.

Only idea I could come up with is try to make the beer sweeter? Add like 1/2-1 lb lactose to it before bottling. Ive never added it at this stage so don't quote me on it but lactose really helps make a beer sweet and won't effect your abv.

Yeah I thought about that. I'm gonna sit in it for a while and see how it is in a month or so. If it is still tart then I might try something. Thanks for the input.
