Hi
I am having my 1st go at making pear cider and after pressing the pears I was left with 2 gallon but have hit a problem

I misread the dosing on campden tablets and instead of adding 1 per gallon I added 2 per gallon but i did not realise my mistake at first

I left the juice to stand for 48 hours before adding the yeast

48 hours after adding the yeast there is no sign of any fermentation taking place what can I do to save the cider
Thanks

If you haven't already done so, have a look at a similar post just above. Your two tablets probably added 100ppm instead of 50ppm so it shouldn't be a big deal and most of the SO2 should have sorted out any wild yeast, pathogens etc and dissipated by now. Just add yeast again if it hasn't started by itself.
