I overfilled a few bottles to about 1/4 to 1/2" from the top under counterpressure. I remember from bottle conditioning that headspace was important to balance the CO2 in solution and the headspace. Is this still true and what are the risks of sending these in versus uncapping, pouring some off, and recapping with O2 caps??

thanks

headspace is more critical when you're bottle conditioning. since these were pre-carbed and then filled, you have far less to worry about.
i honestly doubt you'll have anything more than a slightly louder hiss when they are uncapped. no gushers, no bombs.

I counter pressure fill and have a lot of bottles that are probably filled to 1/4" or less of the cap. Perhaps in a competition they'd ding me for not having enough headspace, but so far all the bottles have been fine.
