I will be getting my rhizomes sometime this week, here in Iowa the weather is crazy unpredictable. Lately highs have been in the 70s+ and the lows haven't touched 30 in two weeks. Technically our frost date isn't until May 9th, just curious if putting rhizomes in the ground now is going to kill, if we do get a couple nights below freezing. I'll have a pretty good layer of mulch around the hill, and if it were to be calling for frost i'd go at least cover the ground with a towel.

So should i plant outisde in there spot or plant indoors and wait?

Plant out.

if it frosts, it won't kill them, just the new shoots. It will make more.

So either way you get growth friom the time you plant or the last frost. Why plant later if there is no frost?

this is kind of what i figured, just needed some extra input. I'm pretty pumped about putting these in!
