So I've heard it is good to "archive" a few bottles of each batch for longer aging, but I've also heard the hop aroma from dry hopping will fade away. So should I archive my IPA or just drink it all?

Keep a few around just to see what time actually does to the beer.

Then you can be the one answering from experience. :D

I think the correct answer is to brew new beers so often that you don't have a chance to finish a batch before the next one is ready. :D

Seriously, though, what's the harm in storing a few bottles away? If you're doing at least 5 gallon batches, that's such a small percentage of the batch. And even if it doesn't age well, you will have learned something without wasting too much money/effort.
