I'm doing my first all-grain this weekend and I'm using the Zapap setup for my sparge. This setup must cause concern for maintaining temperature right?

What are some tips to try and make a sparge with this setup the most effective??

Which technique of sparging would you recommend for this equipment?

Just trying not to screw up my first all grain. Thanks!

Isnt this the bucket in the bucket system? Man, that is tough... do the sparge in a warm area, preferably inside. Also, make sure your sparge water uis 175-180F during the beginning of the sparge.
I used to never mash out, and when I would sparge, my grain bed would drop to about 145F... and I still obtained 78% eff. So, do the best you can, you will be ok.

I started with the zap-pap system, what a PITA drilling all those holes!
I think I used towels to keep the temp...My efficiency was always pretty bad, 60-65%. It works well enough.
